Intercultural Progressive Foundation Presents Dance Festival 2014
The Hague, Netherlands – The Intercultural Progressive Foundation (IPS) is proud to present Dance Festival 2014, a celebration of Indian Kathak cultural dance. The festival will take place from Saturday, October 25th to Wednesday, October 30th at Theatre in de Steeg, Westeinde 165, 2512 GX, The Hague, Netherlands.
The festival will feature a variety of Kathak dance performances by renowned dancers. Kathak is one of the eight major forms of Indian classical dance. The name Kathak is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word Katha which means “story”, and Kathakar which means “the one who tells a story”, or “to do with stories”.
“We are excited to showcase this beautiful and ancient dance form to the community,” said M. Saeed, organizer of the event. “We hope that this festival will help to promote understanding and appreciation of Indian culture.”
